If you plant it in a pot then ensure that pot should have proper drainage system otherwise roots of money plants will be damaged by excessive water.

d) How to water: Excessive water is not good for money plant. If its leaves are turning yellow and start shedding then this is the sign of excessive water and sunlight. If you plant it in water then change the water of jar or bottle every 2-3 days. If you plant it in soil then do not water excessively. During summer water every alternate day and during winter after 4-5 days. Give time to soil to dry, then water.

Fertilizers required

It needs common fertilizer. To plant in soil, use fertile soil. Use nitrate base fertilizer. If you are using liquid form then dilute it with water and then mix them in soil. Never add fertilizers just after trimming. Always add fertilizers in shade or in evening. Never add them in sunlight, as it can burn leaves.

Common disease

To prevent any common disease like fungus, use fungicide and pesticides. Use liquid form as they do not leave any white residue on leaves. Read labels of packet before use. Use less quantity as excess amount of fungicide can turn the leaves yellow and plant may die. Fungicide and pesticides are poison so keep them out of reach from children. Spray fungicide in shade not in sunlight. Spray it on the top and bottom of the leaves and on the soil.

Weeds and pests

Ants, mosquitoes and other flying insects generally find shelter in money plant. Ants eat leaves of money plant and ruin its beauty. Use water based household insect spray to prevent ants, mosquitoes or any type of weeds or pests. Pesticides also work well for this. Use in lesser quantity.
